DX2 is a document data and exchange platform for B2C and B2B trading partners, used to share data/EDI within a VAN. It is used to exchange documents, track invoices and converse between all parties involved.
DX2 lacked the capability for collaborative communication between C2B and B2B customers, along with the ability to maintain records of all interactions and information. To address this, we developed a messaging panel that enables seamless communication, emphasizing a mobile-first design that seamlessly transitions to a desktop format.
To tackle the challenges faced by customers using the current system, we conducted a thorough analysis of the customer journey to gain insights. Subsequently, we developed and implemented a messenger prototype within the web application, empowering users to seamlessly view, attach, and approve invoices directly through the messaging platform.
I crafted user personas by interviewing current DX2 clients and collected their feedback regarding any pain points encountered with the existing system. Additionally, a thorough competitor analysis was performed, drawing inspiration from established messenger applications like Facebook Messenger, Instagram, and WhatsApp. Integrating this panel into the current layout posed a challenge, considering the limited desktop space. We devised a solution that ensured seamless integration without sacrificing essential information.
